Consider switching to a high-intensity low duration exercise (like sprints). 20 minutes of sprints at 30 seconds to 1 minute sprint interspersed with 1 min to 1 min 30 sec of rest (so a total of no more than 10 sprints) can burn sufficiently more calories in the short term and long term.
